Murph Day tomorrow. Heats every hour starting at 8am. Last heat 11am.

News/Notes: The Box will be CLOSED for Open Gym on Sunday's through the summer. We will re-open after Labor Day. Our experience during the summer months are folks go do many other things on a Sunday morning, so we are encouraging you all to treat Sunday as a rest day, or try something new/different. Go for a 1/2 mile swim at Ohio Street beach, mountain bike at Bullfrog Lake, grab some buddies and climb the stairs at Swallow Cliff; Sign up for a 5k or 10k, or a Ruck Challenge. Maybe a Tough Mudder or Spartan style race. Or simply grab your family and go for a walk around the neighborhood, play frisbee or some catch.

June On-Ramp begins this Monday June 6 at 6:00pm. If you have friends or family interested in joining CFB this is the best gateway to joining the community.

It is very well run and there will be celebrity CrossFit athletes warming up and working out right next to you. IF you are interested you can sign up and select the community "South Side Average Joes by clicking here, or speak with me and we to discuss opportunities in more detail. Signing up for the online qualifier is a great reason to keep the intensity of your training up. I for one am looking forward to it. If you'd like more info, click here for details.

The Third Annual CFB-McArdle Pool Party is set for Saturday June 25. The McArdles have been gracious to open their home and pool to the community for a summer get together. Food will be catered by a Mexican Food Truck and we will have frozen Margaritas and Frozen Lemonades. IF you have a beverage of choice for yourself, there will be plenty of coolers and fridge space to hold them. We need to give the caterer a head count for food, so please sign the RSVP sheet at the box by Tuesday June 21.

We have reserved the Alsip pool for a swimming WOD. For those of you who are new, we have done this in years past and it is a great time. This is an opportunity for us to take our training out of the box and experience something new. The event is Saturday July 23 and this will be our Team WOD for the week. We are booking the pool before open hours and we will have the pool to ourselves from 10am-12pm. All CFB members and family are invited. If you have little ones and want to wade in the shallow end, by all means bring them. We will follow the swim WOD with a softball game in the park behind the pool and then have some lunch in the picnic area.

If you brought with them chips, crackers, pretzels or other snacks; If they had paper, crayons or markers out; If they went in to the back and grabbed balls or jump ropes, please clean up after them. We have brooms and dust pans in the laundry room. Please respect the coaches and staff to not have to clean up after your children. Much like you clean up your gear after a workout we would appreciate the same with the children.
