News/Notes:

Congratulations Julie on accomplishing USAW Sports Performance Coach Status!  Well Done, Coach!  We look forward to your insights in Oly Lifting.

If you are signed up for the Open, please remember to submit your scores for validation by Monday March 3, 7:00pm

If you intend to makeup/redo 14.1 today please do so during Open Gym.  We have CF Kids from 11-12:35 and won't be able to accommodate you during that time.

Effective this week we will be opening up the Box for daytime open gym.  Tuesday-Thursday and Friday the Box will be available from 11am to 3pm for any work you would like to do.  Lift, mobility, row, gymnastics practice, strongman, etc.  Come on in and get some extra time if you can.

What a week!  PR's like crazy in Snatch, Back Squat and Cleans.  Not to mention all the first time DUs from folks participating in the Open.  There is still time to sign up!  7pm Monday is the deadline for registration and submitting scores for validation.  It has been an exciting weekend and it will continue today.

I can't be more proud and excited for all the accomplishments this week and all the accomplishments leading up to this week.  It was a great 12 weeks of Oly training and strength work.  You all have improved dramatically and it showed, not only in your 1RMs, but in your movement and mechanics, not to mention 14.1  power snatch movement.  We have more fun stuff to look forward to in the coming weeks and months.

USAW certification will be held here at CFB May 3-4.  It is posted on the USAW website and open for registration.  http://secure.mycart.net/catalogs/catalog.asp?prodid=5225129&showprevnext=1.  If you want to be trained in Snatch and C&J by real US Olympic coaches, then where better than in your home Box?

We will be hosting, again, the Annual Workout To Wipeout Domestic Violence Fundraiser March 22 during Open workout 14. 4.  Donations of $20 would be appreciated.  All proceeds go to the Morgan Park Juniors benefiting A New Direction.  Amy Wiltgen will be on hand for massages after your WOD.  We are proud to be participating this our third year supporting this tremendous cause.

Please, Please note a few parking rules we need to establish early.  Please DO NOT park in the strip mall across the street.  It is a very busy building and they use all the parking they have.  Also do not park in the side lots at the Cupcake store or the Tax office across Fairfield.  111th offers street parking, we can get about 10 cars in the lot, and there is room on the south side of Fairfield.  Please respect our neighbors, thanks.
