Rest or Open Gym

Come in and roll out or work on some Goats.

During our travels this week we have visited a few boxes and have learned some new movements which we can't wait to share.  Should be good ones!

Reminder:  Amended schedule tomorrow Monday December 31.  4 hours, WODs at 8, 9, 10, and 11 am ONLY!  Sorry for bumping everyone  from 6:30, but poor communication on our part has no one in the box before 8.  No classes Tuesday January 1.  We expect many of you will have the Irish flu so we aren't even gonna bother. But after Wednesday everything is back to normal.

Honored Prairie will have a truck delivering next Saturday Jan 5th.  Orders must be placed by the end of the day today.  This is a perfect opportunity to get Paleo Challenge supplies.  http://honoredprairie.com

Paleo Challenge is a week away.  Some of you came in yesterday and got measured for the challenge.  We have another opportunity Wednesday during open gym from 9 till noon.

We will have booklets for you to look over to help you prepare and maintain a paleo lifestyle.  The buy in will be $60, a dollar a day for the challenge.  The pay out will be predicated by entries and we will have prizes a well as cash for winners and runner ups.  Mike Lackenbach is willing to spearhead caliper measurements for the challenge again.  Mike is doing us a tremendous service in giving us time to get all the measurements in.  This means we are at the mercy of his schedule so please respect the times he is available and make it in to get weighed and measured.  Currently he is on break from school he is available Dec 27th, 28th, 29th, and Jan 2nd.  Once you have been measured you are all set.  Please respond in the "comments on this post" here all times that work for you on those days and we will condense the sign up times so Mike isn't spending all his time doing this for us.

CrossFit e-Town is hosting a charity event, Tyler's Fight Against Cancer, January 19 at 9 am.  I will be in San Francisco competing in a CrossFit Masters Competition, but I would love to send a group up to Evanston to represent CFB and support this effort.  e-town and it's staff are dear friends of ours and we would really like to help out so please consider a car pool to attend.  Thanks so much.

From CrosFit e-town:  Come out and participate in this charity WOD event to help raise money to support Tyler and his family during his fight against cancer. Tyler is a 22 month old little boy who has been diagnosed with a Wilm's Tumor. He has had surgery to remove the tumor and the kidney it was attached to. He also has a lump on one of his lungs. He has been fighting the good fight and has recently started his 6 month treatment of chemotherapy. Tyler and his family need all the help they can get. Let's team up together and raise money to help them get through this tough moment in their lives. Minimum donation of $25. 100% of all money raised goes directly to the family. Let's see who can raise the most money and who can have the best time on the WOD. More details will follow!

Our Roller Derby girl Jail will be competing in a home bout January 26th for the Windy City Rollers.  They skate at the UIC Pavilion and we owe her a CFB presence to cheer her on.  We will get more details, but I believe we can get a group rate for the event.  We will have more details, but mark your calendar.

Feb 2 we will host a Slam down with DogHouse CrossFit up in Edison Park.  They will be coming to CFB for a competition for North Side South Side CrossFit supremacy.  We will have more details about the particulars of the day, but it is sure to be a great time.  Please plan to be here as an athlete or spectator.

Happy New Year!
